Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Cynthia (Sylvia Breamer) goes to New York City with her mother (Margaret Berry) after her father (Robert Milasch) and brothers (Slim Rube and Jay Strong) are killed when revenuers raid their still. She meets and falls in love with Phillip Ashford (Robert Gordon), a nondrinker who has nevertheless inherited his father's alcoholic tendencies. The pair work for a man who wants Cynthia himself, and to that end he encourages Phillip to drink. Phillip's drunkenness disturbs her, and she returns his engagement ring. But after the death of his daughter, the villain regrets what he has done and helps the couple to reconcile. This picture, released about four months after Prohibition went into effect, was made by J. Stuart Blackton, an early film director whose style, by 1919, was starting to look extremely old-fashioned.
