Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This video is part of a series that profiles some of the great authors of modern times. Virginia Woolf is the subject of this program. Woolf was born at the turn of the century in England and was part of the Bloomsbury group, the intelligentsia of London in the 1920s. Deeply philosophical, Woolf suffered from depression, as her immense talent sought to express feminist values in a male-dominated society. She eventually took her own life. Her works include A Room of One's Own, To the Lighthouse, Voyage Out, and Night and Day.
