Synopsis by Perry Seibert

Jules Karatechamp's Canadian documentary Miss 501 (A Portrait of Luck) takes a look at some underground scenes in Toronto. The center of action is Burger, a drag queen, who works at a bar, Bistro 422, that is populated by other minority types like homosexuals, punk rockers, and people with sadomasochistic sexual fetishes. Karatechamp tells their stories, continuing on the sexual themes of his previous work, Deep Inside Clint Star. Miss 501 was screened at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival.
