Synopsis by Janiss Garza
After Katie Malloy (Alice Lake) loses her job as a laundress, she travels out West and becomes a manicurist. At the hotel where she works, she meets Peter Crandall (Forrest Stanley), a hard-drinking young man from a well-to-do family. He has come to Wyoming to make a man of himself, but it's Katie who convinces him to stop drinking. They marry, but there's trouble upon their return to New York. Although the Crandalls are grateful for what Katie has done for Peter, they can't accept his marriage to a working girl. But after taking some lessons in the social graces, Katie is finally able to win over her new family. This picture was based on the stage play, The Outsider, by Julie Herne.
