Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

Based on a real character -- Emile Bahr (Guenther Lamprecht) who was declared the "strongest man in the world" in a 1935 competition -- this film develops a tale about Bahr being active in the Czech resistance movement during the war. For that activity, and because he opposed any Aryan pseudo-philosophy, the Nazis hated him. Even after the war, when Bahr performed with the circus, former Nazis would persecute him as much as possible. In an attempt to get away from these hassles, Bahr goes to Sweden for awhile and then back to West Germany and then to East Germany -- where his openness again gets him into difficulties.
