Synopsis by Janiss Garza
In ancient Rome, tyrannical Emperor Caligula is assassinated through the machinations of Messalina (Rina de Liguoro). She then makes a conquest of Marcus (Alfredo DeFelice), who forces the Senate to name her husband, Claudius (Augusto Mastripietri), as emperor. Messalina's wicked ways continue when she falls in love with Ennio, a slave (Gino Talamo). Ennio is also loved by Egyptian princess Mirit (Giovanna Terribili), but he loves neither of them, preferring the company of Ela, a Greek slave (Lucia Zamissi). The vengeful Mirit wants to see Ennio dead, but she herself is killed by the lions meant for the slave. Meanwhile, Claudius divorces Messalina and orders her death, but she kills herself rather than submit to the disgrace.
