Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Blond, porcelain-pretty Mary Miles Minter, once considered a threat to Mary Pickford, played the title role in this silent melodrama, the daughter of an evangelist (Spottiswood Aitken). Traveling in the mountains of Kentucky, father and daughter get involved in one of those Hatfields and McCoys feuds so popular with pulp fiction writers of the era. The evangelist is falsely accused of a crime, but Melissa proves his innocence with the assistance of a young attorney (Allan Forrest), whom she later weds. Handsome Allan Forrest, who was to become Mary Pickford's brother-in-law, would appear in no less than 20 Minter films.
