Synopsis by Mark Deming

Fusing the manic energy of punk with the melodic wanderlust of psychedelia, The Meat Puppets were one of the most respected band in the alternative rock scene of the 1980s until they finally edged into the limelight in the early 1990s, thanks in part to the endorsement of high-profile fans such as Kurt Cobain of Nirvana. Meat Puppets: Alive in the Nineties stitches together live footage of the band on stage with interviews and behind-the scenes glimpses of the band at work and play to create a portrait of a great band at the peak of their popularity, just before their fall from grace. Songs include "Backwater," "Plateau," "Lake of Fire," "Lost," "Monsters," "Never to Be Found," and more.
