Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Chusei Sone directed this softcore melodrama, the first in an above-average Nikkatsu studio pinku eiga trilogy looking at prostitution in three Japanese cities. Sone's film is a comical look at a Tokyo brothel in the 1800s starring Yuko Katagiri as a young prostitute who learns her craft through a series of funny, often bizarre encounters with clients including an immense, clumsy sumo wrestler and a man with a most unusual skin condition. Aiko Kano co-stars. Noboru Tanaka directed the other two films in the series, focusing on prostitution in Edo and Osaka.
