Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Jessica Habie's drama Mars at Sunrise explores how artists use and transcend their surroundings by focusing on a Jewish-American poet's first visit to Israel. He ends up befriending a Palestinian painter, who must use his art in order to keep his spirit free when he's interrogated severely by an Israeli guard whose own artistic impulses have been repressed.
