Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Not to be confused with American TV cop series of the same title, the weekly British effort Manhunt was set in France during WWII. When a British pilot named Jimmy Porter (Alfred Lynch) crash-landed behind enemy lines, a group of French resistance fighters risked their lives to smuggle Jimmy back to his own army. The 26 hour-long episodes were festooned with fascinating subplots, one of which dealt with a local Nazi bigwig (Robert Hardy) who took a Jewish woman (Cyd Hayman) as his mistress. Created by Rex Firkin, Manhunt was shown by London Weekend Television in 1969 and 1970.
