Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This Essanay six-reeler was based on a novel by Henry Oyen. Ernest Maupain plays "Wolf" John, the rough-and-ready owner of an independent lumber company. Into Wolf John's camp wanders his pantywaist nephew John Peabody (Richard Travers), whose father hopes he will become a "real man" under his uncle's tutelage. Peabody proves to be equal to his new lumberjack job and even wins the love of Wolf John's adopted daughter Belle (June Keith). Unfortunately, Belle's self-styled boyfriend Bull Bart (Thomas McLarnie) does not take kindly to Peabody's intrusion, and he takes revenge on the young man by trying to ruin Wolf John's business. This hostility culminates in a winner-take-all prizefight between Bull and Our Hero.
