Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Poverty row entrepreneur Benjamin F. Wilson produced, directed, and starred in the title role, a prospector turned hermit, in this Western. Frequent Wilson collaborator Neva Gerber co-starred as a girl searching for John Milton, a man falsely accused of a crime actually committed by her brother. A villain, Black Bart, steals the girl's money and then forces her to work for him. Using her feminine wiles, the girl soon uncovers a cache of gold hidden by a hermit near his mountain cabin. There is a fight, and both Black Bart and the girl escape. Back in town, Black Bart is overpowered by the hermit, who hands him over to the sheriff. The mountain man reveals himself to be the long sought-for John Milton, after which he and the girl begin planning a future together on Lone Mountain.
