Synopsis by Janiss Garza

David Tryne (Henri Bergman), a cripple with a knack for forgery, goes to work at a second hand bookstore and becomes devoted to the proprietor's daughter, Sonia (Jane Grey). He considers her his angel and will do anything for her. Sonia is sent to Europe to study singing and becomes a famous prima donna. She receives a marriage proposal from Schuyler, which she accepts, but Tryne wants to hang onto her. So he forges a letter that he claims is written by her father, now dead, saying that she is illegitimate. This keeps Sonia from marrying Schuyler, but eventually Tryne has a change of heart and confesses to the truth.
