One of four lifestyle programs seen on the A&E network's Sunday-afternoon lineup in the summer of 2003 (the other three were All Year Round With Katie Brown, The Well-Seasoned Traveller and Sell This House!), Makeover Mamas was the series that asked the question: How well do mothers and mothers-in-law know their children? Each episode found two mothers endeavoring to remake a room in their married offsprings' home, with only two days and 1,500 dollars at their disposal. At the end of the project, the "mamas" stood by the sidelines to see if their own interior-decorating tastes matched those of their kids. Naturally, our heroines weren't completely left to their own devices: Professional interior designer helped them every inch of the way. Taped in the Southern California area, Makeover Mamas debuted on July 6, 2003.
