A young peasant boy stands up to cruel landowners in this Indian political drama. After he is grown, the young man leaves when his sweetheart gives in to the sexual demands of the lecherous landlord. He meets a Marxist who further instills the spirit of political defiance. When he returns to this village, the young man finds it has been destroyed by angry peasants during a revolt against the local power structure.
