Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Although Judith (Rosemary Thebe) is engaged to the prosaic Jean Laroque, she wishes for the glitter of the big city. She finds life in a Newfoundland fishing village rather dull, and when she encounters George Wilton (Harvey Clarke), she sees a way out. Wilton, a representative for a fish corporation in New York, has had his eye on Jean's packing company, and he convinces Judith to hand over the deed to the plant. When Jean finds out what Judith has done, he is devastated and leaves town. Wilton runs the plant with a cruel and pitiless hand and at last Judith is horrified when she realizes what she has done. The fishermen are angrily mobbing the plant when Jean returns. While he is trying to stop them, Wilton is mortally shot. Judith begs Jean's forgiveness and he takes her -- and the plant -- back.
