Synopsis by Mark Deming

An odd-jobs man is down to list last few pennies when he's drawn into a increasingly complicated web of crime in this comedy from Chinese filmmaker Mi Lawen. Liu Yuejin (Li Yixiang) is a traveling laborer from Henan who has made his way to Beijing looking for work. Yan (Liu Xinyi), a corrupt real estate baron, gives Liu a job cooking lunch at one of hi job sites, but he's still just keeping his head above water when his bag is stolen after work. Not only did Liu's bag contain all his cash, but it had an IOU from a petty crook who promised Liu 60,000 yuan as a consolation after he ran off with Liu's wife several years before. Liu needs the money soon, especially now that his grown-up son (Zhang Zhiwei) is trying to start a business, but his search for the thief takes an unexpected turn when it turns out Yan and his cronies are looking for the same man. It seems the crook has come into possession of a computer memory stick that has some data which could ruin Yan's life and career if it fell into the wrong hands. Wo Jiao Liu Yuejin (aka Lost and Found) received its North American premiere at the 2008 Montreal World Film Festival.
