Synopsis by Mark Deming
In this dark comedy-drama from filmmaker Jacco Groen, a man is riding on a train with his young daughter after a few days together. The man is taking the girl back to his ex-wife, but when the child goes missing, he begins to panic. While looking for the girl, he gets a message that the literary event he's been promoting is about to collapse before it even starts, and a look out the window suggests the train is running in circles. The man begins to wonder if his paranoia is getting the better of him, or perhaps his daughter is wrecking some sort of revenge for the failure of her parent's marriage. Spoorweg (aka Losing Track) was screened in competition at the 2007 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
