Synopsis by Mark Deming
Two men find themselves walking a fine line between acting and real-world chaos in this action-oriented comedy from the Dominican Republic. Filomeno is an out-of-work actor who has an outsized ego and a temper to match. When Filomeno's cousin, Balbuena, arrives for a visit, the actor has just lost his job and is in the midst of one of his spectacular tantrums. While Balbuena doesn't know much about the theater, he knows a great show when he sees one and is convinced there must be some market in the movies for Filomeno's world-class rage. Balbuena helps Filomeno rework his latest play into a movie script that would take full advantage of his talent for anger. They then set out to get the word out about their project by staging a few of the more spectacular scenes in public; however, the rub is that not everyone realizes that Filomeno's bursts of violent pique are just an act.
