Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Because of his successful Wall Street dealings, millionaire George Mannister (Henry B. Walthall) has inspired the envy and animosity of several powerful men. His enemies stage a set-up in which his wife, Lucy (Olive Ann Alcorn), catches him with another woman. As a result, she spitefully runs away with another member of the ruthless group. Mannister chases after them around the globe and when he finally catches up with them, the man tells him about the plot that has decimated his fortune. He returns to wreak revenge on those who have ruined him. This film sounds like a variation on the plot to The Count of Monte Cristo, but it was actually adapted from a story written by then-current author E. Phillips Oppenheim.
