Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Filmed in 1981, this New Zealand-based TV production was distributed internationally in 1983. Titled simply A Woman of Good Character in most areas, the film stars Sarah Pierse as a 19th century adventurer. She arrives in New Zealand, hoping to settle down peacefully and quietly. But Sarah must endure the locals' prejudice against independent women who choose to chart their own course in life. A Woman of Good Character debuted in America over the A&E cable service in 1986.
