Synopsis by Hal Erickson

During WWI, American soldier William Desmond finds himself the unofficial foster father of Belgian war orphan Ernest Marion. Taking the kid home with him, Desmond is unable to explain the urchin's existence to his conclusion-jumping sweetheart Louise Lovely. It takes several hilariously grueling reels for the hero and heroine to settle their differences. And of course, the bright-eyed orphan boy is instrumental in reuniting the dashing Desmond with the lovely Lovely. Life's a Funny Proposition was filmed at the old Jesse Hampton studio, which three years later was purchased and completely redressed for the opulent Douglas Fairbanks Sr. production Robin Hood.
