Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This documentary about mental illness doesn't interview doctors and "experts." Instead it features interviews with three disturbed individuals, only one of whom is not institutionalized. The views these individuals have about their lives and their treatment are freely shared, and they often demonstrate unusually clear insight into their situations. Nonetheless, their testimony makes it clear that they do not live in quite the same world as the majority.
