Synopsis by Tracie Cooper

Chef and cookbook author Lidia Bastianich embarks on a culinary journey throughout the United States to offer a glimpse into the diverse cultures, matrimonial traditions and foods found throughout the nation. In New Orelans, Mardi Gras Indians dance while jambalaya, crawfish, and pralines delight guests at a wedding reception, while food writer Madhur Jaffrey and actor Mario Cantone plan a traditional Indian wedding ceremony and dinner featuring tandoori specials, seafood kebabs, and traditional Indian breads. Lastly, a New York couple blends Italian-American and Irish-American culinary traditions for a feast that includes Irish wedding cake and classic Venetian desserts.
