Synopsis by Janiss Garza

In this light comedy-drama, told in Charles Dickens-like fashion, Hartley Owen Chilworth (Ben Webster) comes into a large inheritance. However, his cousins Blanche (Ranee Brook) and Amy (Edna Flugrath) are left nothing. Because they are broke, they are forced to board with their uncle, Todman (O.B. Clarence), who is not doing much better. Chilworth pretends to be his own agent and rooms at Todman's also. He carefully studies the personalities of all his poor relations and winds up falling in love with Blanche. He reveals his true identity and they marry, while Amy weds her own beau. Edna Flugrath was one of a trio of acting sisters -- the others were Shirley Mason and Viola Dana.
