Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Tredowata (Social Leper) is the woeful tale of Count Micherkowski (Franciszek Brodniewicz). When he announces his plans to marry music teacher Stephania (Elzbieta Barszczewska), a mere "commoner," the Count is ostracized by friends and family alike. He tries to adopt a "to hell with them" attitude, but the onus of being a social pariah proves too overwhelming. The film's basic story works well enough on its own not to need any comedy relief, but try telling that to director Juliusz Gardan, whose insertions of inappropriate humor dilutes the story's effectiveness. Still, Tredowata made a great deal of money upon its original release.
