When Leila (Melanie Doutey), a beautiful 16-year-old Indian girl living in Marrakesh, falls in love with Danish tourist Nils (Arnaud Binard), she is not prepared for the torrent of family strife it results in. Leila's brother and father are so enraged by this cultural infraction that they consider murdering her as a viable option. Rather than killing her, however, they eventually offer her hand in marriage to a sketchy businessman. Luckily for Leila, Nils and several friends of his set off to rescue her. Leila was written and directed by Gabriel Axel, and also features Michel Bouquet and Christian E. Christiansen.
