Orphaned by the age of 13, the hot-tempered Youka is sent by his uncle Kakusei to train at a martial arts studio to study the art of Zenshinkyou style of martial arts. Youka feels that he is mistreated, however, and runs away only to stumble upon a forbidden tomb, where he finds a beautiful young woman. Eventually, he finds that she is a master of a different martial arts form called Shouryuujo and convinces her to train him. Now, Youka is at odds with the only family he has left because he has chosen a different path -- will it lead him to the story of who his father was or to the culmination of the conflict that exists between him and his uncle? Legend of Condor Hero is based on the wuxia novel The Return of the Condor Heroes by Chinese author Jinyong. The first season of the series was produced in Japanese by a Japan-based studio, but when it proved to be much more successful in China, the second season was produced by a Chinese studio in Cantonese and Mandarin.
