Dickey Derrickson (William Russell) is rich and happily idle. This, however, does not suit his fiancée, Madge Earle (Eileen Percy), who insists that he make something of himself. So he buys a detective agency, but he doesn't bother telling Madge that the town it's in has no crime. She finds out, though, and his next ploy is to import some crooks so he can create a crime wave to halt. The crooks, however, break their agreement and stir up some real mayhem by going to a wedding, stealing the presents and kidnapping the bridegroom. So Dickey is really forced to work after all. He makes good by capturing the bad guys and wins the admiration of his girl.
