Lumpy (Frank Bank) is thinking about joining the merchant marine, but he dare not tell his parents. Thus, Lumpy arranges for the applications and other literature to be mailed to Wally (Tony Dow). Naturally, Ward (Hugh Beaumont) and June (Barbara Billingsley) come across all that merchant marine information and jump to the conclusion that their own darling son is secretly yearning for a life on the high seas!
