Now that he's graduated from the eighth grade, Beaver (Jerry Mathers) is looking forward to the extensive (and expensive) cross-country bus trip he's going to take during the summer. At the same time, Beaver is sweet on Mary Margaret Mathews (Lori Martin), the new girl in town. When that notorious bon vivant Whitey Whitney (Stanley Fafara) offers to spend the summer teaching Mary Margaret how to water-ski, jealous Beav begins to have second thoughts about seeing America.
