Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
In this Senegalese comedy, an impoverished, luckless slug finds it very difficult to answer when opportunity finally knocks. The tale opens in a slum outside of town with Mario, the hapless hero, heading downtown. There he tries to pick the pocket of a dwarf, who then suggests the lout buy a ticket in the National Lotto. The enigmatic little man then gives the hero the lucky number. Sure enough Mario wins the jackpot. Unfortunately, not really believing he would win, Mario had glued the ticket to the door of his hovel. Unable to separate it without breaking it, Mario carefully hauls the heavy door to the lottery office. Unfortunately, the information they need is on the back of the ticket. Now he must find a way to safely remove it if he wants to turn the tide of his unlucky life.
