Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Mrs. Wharton (Louise Beaudet) has never accepted the marriage of her stepson, John (Donald Hall). Instead of Florence (Dorothy Kelly), she would rather that John had wed her own daughter, Beatrice (Adele Kelly). When Florence and her child go away for a few days, Mrs. Wharton sees her chance to stir things up, and she sends Lorenz (Harry Morey), an old admirer of Florence's, to the lodge where she is staying. John catches Florence and Lorenz together, suspects the worst, and leaves, taking the child with him. They divorce, and Florence marries Lorenz, since it seems like the honorable thing to do. John finally decides to do his stepmother's bidding and marry Beatrice, but then Florence finds out that both she and John have been tricked. Lorenz realizes that Florence will never love him the way he wants her to and commits suicide, which leaves her free to reunite with John.
