Synopsis by Janiss Garza
This title has nothing to do with movie, and was taken from a quote by General Pershing as he stood at Lafayette's tomb when the U.S. entered World War I. The story itself is about a romance between American Leroy Trenchard (E.K. Lincoln) and a French girl, Therese Verneuil (Dolores Cassinelli). It is 1914, and when Therese mysteriously vanishes, Leroy returns to America. He comes back to France, however, as a soldier when America enters the war. He is temporarily blinded in a battle, and after he regains his sight, he discovers it was Therese who had nursed him back to health. After she makes a hasty retreat, Leroy goes looking for her. He believes she is disguised as a singer named Princess Sonia, so he sneaks into Sonia's apartment during a reception. While hidden, he sees the singer turn over two people to secret service agents. Then she removes her veil, revealing that she really is Therese. Leroy is distraught, since he believes she is a spy for the enemy. It turns out that her spying is for the Allies only, so they are reunited.
