The Opera Australia mounted this production of Giuseppe Verdi's iconic La Traviata in 1987, with the eminent Joan Carden as the lead. The cast also features Rosemary Gunn, Neville Wilkie and Richard Greager; John Copley directs for the stage, with maestro Carlo Felice Cillario leading two accompanying ensembles: The Elizabethan Sydney Orchestra and The Australian Opera Chorus. This particular film was originally produced for television by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
