Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Writer/director William Vega details the catastrophic effects of Columbia's long-running civil war as seen through the eyes of a 19-year-old girl who flees her home in the Andean highlands after her family is massacred and her village burned to the ground. Running from government troops in fear for her life, Alicia (Joghis Seudin Arias) seeks sanctuary with her taciturn uncle Don Oscar (Julio César Roble), who dwells in a dilapidated lakeside resort. With tourist season fast-approaching, Alicia works alongside housekeeper Flora (Floralba Achicanoy) to prepare the lodge for an influx of visitors. But as the war continues to spread the customers keep their distance. Later, Don Oscar's son Fredy (Heraldo Romero) shows up badly injured and seeking a place to convalesce. He does his best to warn his father and Alicia of the approaching danger, and with each passing day, the drums of war beat louder on the horizon.
