Synopsis by Robert Firsching

This musical romance directed by Jesus Franco concerns the tragic entanglements of a beautiful Gypsy girl named Lolita (Mikaela Wood) in 1913 Madrid. Dancing for money at a party, Lolita meets the wealthy Fernando (Yves Massard), who disguises himself as a waiter to woo her. Upon learning the truth, Lolita forces him to choose between her and his fiancee, Monique (Danielle Godet). Naturally, he chooses Lolita, but is wounded in a duel on his way to elope with her. Devastated, Lolita goes to Paris, where she begins a glamorous career as Lola Miranda, the name itself a tribute to this film's obvious influence, Lola Montes. Dora Doll, Juan Riquelme, Antonio J. Escribano, and Alfredo Mayo co-star, while cult starlet Soledad Miranda, in her second film, appears as a duchess. Different versions were released at 97 and 83 minutes.
