Synopsis by Cecilia Cygnar
This fifth and final volume in The Korean War series concludes the saga of the war in Korea. Narrated by James Whitmore and produced by the Korean Broadcasting System, this episode entitled Truce and Epilogue covers the war in its third winter, after newly elected President Eisenhower visited Korea and Stalin had died. Truce talks were stalled until the Soviets and Chinese finally began efforts to end the fighting. The Chinese launched one last offensive in the Kumsong area, but soon after, the war was over and an armistice was signed. This last installment, as well as the entire series, contains never-before-seen film footage and detailed background information achieving a chronological documentation of the Korean War.
