Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The ladies of the title are a pair of Danish cabaret entertainers, played by Helle Ryslinge and Anne Marie Helger. As a reaction to their own domestic travails, Ryslinge and Helger have developed an act in which they poke fun at traditional sexual manners and mores. While the casual viewer might presume that this film is a ham-handed feminist manifesto, Ladies on the Rocks is engagingly sweet-tempered, even when doling out well-deserved punishments to its male-chauvinist characters. Male director Christian Braad Thomsen co-wrote the screenplay with stars Ryslinge and Helger.
