Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

This mountain melodrama starred Peter the Great, Poverty Row company Gotham Production's answer to Warner Bros' great canine star Rin Tin Tin. Charlotte Stevens played Selah Blair, a mountain girl whose life is made miserable by a new stepmother, the "Widder" Casper (Vera Lewis). Running away from home, Selah and her dog King (Peter the Great) save musical comedy star Kitty Carlyle (Mary Cornwallis) from a runaway carriage. The grateful Kitty donates $1000 to Selah's education, money that the "Widder" and her even nastier son Bud (Danny Hoy) desire. Bud corners Selah in a cave and is ready to have his way with her when she is saved by King and boyfriend Clint Sifton (Robert Gordon). The "Widder" tries to escape but King forces her over a cliff to her death. A handsome actor hailing from Kansas, Robert Gordon was Gotham Productions' all-purpose leading man in the mid-1920s.
