A gritty, realistic look at life through the eyes of a dedicated Indian police officer, director Gautham Menon's dark drama also examines the tolls this harsh line of work can take on personal relationships. Dismayed at the corruption that surrounds him, honest cop Anbuselvan (Surya Sivakumar) dues his best to bring down a college campus-based drug ring. Although Professor Maya (Jyothika) is attracted to Anbuselvan, the lawman eschews her advances due to fear that his dangerous line of work will bring her harm. Throwing caution to the wind, the couple soon marries and attempts to overcome their hardships as Anbuselvan continues his quest to bring down the ruthless drug lord.
