Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Departing from the contemporary melodramas and satires which made him famous, Master Vinayak directs this period fantasy that recalls MacBeth. When loyal retainer Angar (Chandramohan) is told by a witch that the current king of his kingdom will die and he will be crowned in his stead, his soul fills with poisonous ambition and he sets out to kill the king. Once the deed is done and he holds the reins of power, the people -- including Angar's spouse, Mangala (Ratnaprabha), and longtime friend, Tarang (Chandrakant) -- marshal against him. This film proved to be a massive box-office disaster.
