Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Jean Lawrence (Marian Nixon) is a failed musical comedy star who is befriended by Nan Norton (Trilby Clark), whose boyfriend is a crook. The crook is arrested and detective Stephen Moore (John Gilbert) shows up in New York, posing as the crook and pretending to have made a killing in Paris as a counterfeiter. He makes friends with Jean, who falls in love with him. Moore is able to move seamlessly through the underworld with his false identity and gathers evidence on an international counterfeiting ring. Eventually the members of the ring are rounded up, Moore reveals his true identity, and he wins the girl. Later in 1924, Gilbert would leave Fox and begin making films for MGM, a very wise career move that brought him superstardom.
