The Lion Queen, Joan Redmond (Betty Jane Rhodes), manages to free Jungle Jim (Grant Withers) and Malay Mike (Raymond Hatton) before they are engulfed in the flames but Slade (Al Bridge) and Bruce Redmond (Bryant Washburn) are captured and brought before the Cobra (Henry Brandon) and Shanghai Lil (Evelyn Brent). Their discussion regarding Joan's true ancestry is overheard by the faithful servant Kolu (Al Duvall), who spills the beans to the Lion Queen herself: That she is not Cobra's daughter but an American heiress and the niece of Bruce Redmond. Back at Cobra's castle, Slade double-crosses Shanghai Lil and has just lit a fuse to blow up the ammunitions room when Jungle Jim and Malay Mike arrive. In the ensuing fight, Jim discovers that Lebat (Paul Sutton) is the killer of Red Hallahan but both Slade and Redmond escape. As Jim is picking up an unconscious Mike, the powder keg explodes.
