This surprisingly successful dramatization of the problem of street kids in Lima, Peru was made by a five member cooperative, Grupo Chaski. This group of Peruvian filmmakers was previously responsible for the 1984 feature (Gregorio) on a similar theme. In this film, Juliana (Rosa Isabel Morfino) is an abused stepdaughter who decides to run away from home. She hits on the scheme of passing as a boy, and along with her younger brother takes up with a street gang.
