Controversial French author Colette's titillating novel gets adapted for the big screen with this drama starring Caroline Cellier as Julie, a woman devastated by her divorce from her charismatic husband Herbert (Jean-Louis Trintignant), who has since remarried to a wealthy and politically-connected woman. Though determined to win her beloved Herbert back at any cost, Julie faces an intense crisis of conscience when he attempts to enlist her aid in robbing his new bride blind.
