Synopsis
After her husband was killed in Vietnam, anurse relocates to Los Angeles with her son and starts working at an aerospace company. The sitcom is conventional in most aspects, but Diahann Carroll's role was the first weekly leading role for a black woman since "Beulah" in the 1950s. As a result, both she and the show received Emmy nominations.
