Synopsis by Nathan Southern
From the beginning of his career, Joe Williams established himself as that rarity: a musician with such versatility that he could segue between jazz, blues and contemporary pop with stunning ease. Filmed at the Paul Masson Winery, this 1991 concert pairs Williams up with a legendary jazz pianist, George Shearing (1919-2011), then in his early 70s. The two said artists receive added musical support from drummer Paul Humphrey and bassist Neil Swainson.
