Synopsis by Nathan Southern
For many years, English mezzo-soprano Dame Janet Abbott Baker held court as one of the world's most beloved and respected opera singers. In 1980 - approximately two years before Baker's retirement -- documentarian Bob Bentley profiled her in this film. Sweeping and ambitious, the motion picture covers Baker's entire career, from her debut with the Glyndebourne Chorus, to her final bow on that stage at the age of 49.
